2013 has seen a new trend in the underground with a small group of producers deconstructing grime and twisting it into a new framework. The tempo has dropped to around 130bpm and grime’s aesthetic and rudeness has been transported into the acoustic space of early dubstep.
This is grime music as heard from the back of a rave. Pulsing basses, broken beats and abstract melodies all blended together with reverb and a sense of space.

Filter Dread is one of the emerging pack, alongside the likes of Wen, Epoch, Threnody, Rabit, Visionist, Underclass. With tracks already appearing Lost Codes and Egyptian Avenue we are pleased to present his most comprehensive work to date. 9 tracks long this mini album establishes his sound, deconstructing grime’s aesthetic, stripping it back to the rawest elements.
